Ingrid’s favourite spot in the house is her changing mat. The mat is next to the wall, near the end of a bookshelf. For some reason, she really likes that corner, preferring it to other parts of the room that I would think should be more interesting. Sometimes when she is grumpy, she cheers up when I put her on the mat. She can lie there and coo and even smile happily at the bookshelf. Sometimes she smiles at the bookshelf but not at me!
Kui mul selline raamaturiiul oleks nagu teil (pildilt naha), siis ma oleks ka ‘in love’ :)
Tere Liina,
If you don’t mind, could you comment in English in the future? Only a minority of the readers here will understand Estonian, and I wouldn’t like to leave the others out of the conversation.
You could always be optimistic and hope it’s a good omen for her future – perhaps she’ll grow up to be a book-loving knowledge seeker! *grin* Apparently I was fascinated by books from a very early age, inspired by my mother’s habit of giving or showing me *beautiful* picture books with deliciously pretty covers to keep me interested. These days I can’t live without books and I hope I’ll be able to pass my literary addiction onto the baby!
Hope this finds you and your lovely family well, happy and smiling. Are you actually from Estonia, then? One of my best friends, Leila, moved to England a few years ago having spent all her life and university career in that country. :-)
She is already growing into a book-loving knowledge seeker! She likes her books a lot more than most of her toys. One of the first things on my to do list after we’ve moved to Stockholm is to find a local library with a good selection of books for the youngest children.
And yes, I am from Estonia, and lived there for 15 years. I speak Estonian with Ingrid at home.
