The rodent has extended his highway, which used to go from the hedge to the bird feeder, all the way to the house. There he has dug another little tunnel to get in under the stairs and onwards into the foundation. And from the other side of the house another little path goes to one of the old vole holes.
The neighbours report that from the hedge (which follows the border between our garden and theirs) the rat wanders into their garden as well. The rat seems to have made himself at home here.
And this weekend we spotted the rat in company of another.
It is time to take countermeasures.
Ja, bäst att sätta stopp för det hela. Men tänk på att råttgift är ett enda djurplågeri som inte borde vara lagligt. Djuren dör efter lång tid av plåga slutligen av inre blödningar. Det är tortyr och inte okej även om man vill ha bort skadedjur. Använd råttfälla istället, som går snabbt och därmed inte plågar. Att man måste ta hand om kroppen får man ta. Dessutom riskerar inte hundar, katter eller barn äta råttgiftet av misstag.
Det är svårt, det där. Vissa säger tvärtom att råttgift är humanare, för fällor dödar inte alltid och så springer den skadade råttan sen omkring med en fälla på sig.
