Another morning of moving office stuff. This time actual movers were involved as well, for bulky, heavy furniture. The new office now has actual furniture.

I get fond of my woolly socks and mend them over and over again. Adrian takes it to a whole other level with his favourite socks and shirts. Except he skips the mending part.

We visited Eric’s brother and his family, including a new baby son.

This was the quietest baby I’ve yet to see in the Bergheden family. It was almost spooky. No crying, no screaming, only some small meeps at times.

I am seriously considering moving from “cats are really nice” to “let’s get a cat of our own”.

Also, this was a really awkward angle to photograph.

I wonder what its family thinks about its long absences.

The neighbourhood cat is coming by several times a week now. I think it’s adopted our house a second home.

It used to come in when it saw the French doors being open. Now it actively signals its desire to be let in by tapping the French doors.

I used to put it back out at eleven-ish at night, in case its family was waiting for it to come home for the night. But it’s come by around midnight on occasion, so I guess it doesn’t go home for the night. I still put it out when I go to bed; I don’t want to have a strange animal loose in the house when nobody is awake. But I feel a bit bad about moving it from a nap on a warm, cosy sofa to a dark, chilly, wet reality.

Urb-it, the client where I’m on assignment right now, is moving to a new office. I spent the morning packing, carrying, unpacking and organizing office and tech equipment.

It feels a bit odd to be get this kind of tasks as part of my software consultancy position. I’m an expensive mover.

But really, why not? If this is what the team leader prioritizes for today, let’s get it done. And I rather enjoy it. It’s nice to occasionally do such a well-defined task, with such clear and immediate results.

The new Urb-it office is on the same street as the tretton37 office, with just three buildings between them. This is going to be very convenient. It was convenient already today: even after we were done moving our things, the new office is not ready for use (lacking desks and chairs, for one thing) so I took my Urb-it colleagues with me in the afternoon and we worked at the tretton37 office for the rest of the day.

The sun doesn’t reach very high in the sky, even in the middle of the day.

I saw it shining so prettily through the trees during my lunchtime walk and I had no proper camera with me, only my phone. The phone camera handles some situations surprisingly well but this is photo just a total disappointment.

Not too old yet for playing around.
