The redcurrant season is over (although possibly I might still be able to find some in a store) so I went for a different cake this time. I have memories of having something similar for my birthdays when I was a child. Probably with canned pineapple or peach slices then; this is with fresh ones.<\/p>\n<p>This came out so great that between the three of us, we managed to eat two thirds of the cake in a single sitting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peach upside-down cake for a delayed birthday celebration.
