The mat is next to the wall, near the end of a bookshelf. For some reason, she really likes that corner, preferring it to other parts of the room that I would think should be more interesting. Sometimes when she is grumpy, she cheers up when I put her on the mat. She can lie there and coo and even smile happily at the bookshelf.
