Sunlight! Clear skies from morning till evening.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_1.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I went for a long walk around northern J\u00e4rvaf\u00e4ltet, mostly following the J\u00e4rvaleden trail. S\u00e4bysj\u00f6n to \u00d6versj\u00f6n to F\u00e4boda to V\u00e4sby g\u00e5rd to H\u00e4gerstalund and back to S\u00e4bysj\u00f6n. Four and a half hours with barely a pause (because it&#8217;s cold to sit still in this weather) so maybe 18 km?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_3.jpg\" class=\"x45y6\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The temperatures have been around zero for a while. The ground was frozen in the shadier places that the sun doesn&#8217;t reach at all, and a bit muddy in sunnier spots. Even then, it was mostly just a thin layer of mud at the top and decently firm, frozen ground beneath it. Which was good, because I went out in my barefoot shoes, which are barely more than socks with a rubber sole and definitely not waterproof. But I managed to keep my feet dry.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_4.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some of the smaller streams and ponds were covered in a thin layer of ice, but overall this winter is not wintering.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_7.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_5.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last year I could go out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/2023\/12\/04\/daily_3215_-_skiing_on_jarvafaltet\/\">skiing on J\u00e4rvaf\u00e4ltet in December<\/a>. I know I skied on the ice on lake \u00d6versj\u00f6n. This year there&#8217;s no ice in sight.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_2.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The woods near H\u00e4gerstalund look less <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/2024\/04\/28\/daily_3355_-_out_admiring_the_flowers\/\">like they&#8217;d harbour elves<\/a> this time of the year, but I could imagine trolls, or ogres, I guess.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3591_Jarva_6.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guess what we had today?
