I chose it mostly because I wanted to share a trick that I learned in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/2020\/12\/15\/daily_2162_-_embroidered_starfishes\/\">workshop<\/a> some years ago, of using a combination of whip stitch and stem stitch for attaching appliqu\u00e9 pieces, instead of blanket stitch, for both better tension control and a more distinct line.
