{"id":17913,"date":"2023-09-21T21:39:19","date_gmt":"2023-09-21T20:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/?p=17913"},"modified":"2023-09-29T21:45:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T20:45:09","slug":"daily_3142_-_bathroom_flies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/2023\/09\/21\/daily_3142_-_bathroom_flies\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily: 3142 &#8211; bathroom flies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_4\/3142_bathroom_flies.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><br \/>\nWe have somehow acquired an infestation of fruit flies in the bathroom &#8211; on the bathroom mirror, more precisely &#8211; and I can&#8217;t seem to get rid of them.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a glass of red wine vinegar to attract and kill the flies, and every couple of days I pour out the vinegar with a few dozen dead flies on the bottom, and they never seem to get fewer.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t understand what they eat, and I guess that&#8217;s the problem, because as long as there is something here for them, they&#8217;ll keep multiplying. I&#8217;ve thoroughly cleaned the floor drain, removed the small garbage bin, removed the ecosystem-in-a-jar that they might find nice with its humid air. I&#8217;ve removed the head of Adrian&#8217;s electric toothbrush, which I&#8217;ve seen the fruit flies land on occasionally &#8211; maybe for the fruity-tasting toothpaste.
