Ingrid and Adrian have outgrown it and some parts are starting to rot.<\/p>\n<p>I notice that I haven&#8217;t mentioned it much here on the blog, but here&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/2011\/04\/20\/today_painting_the_fort\/\">the playhouse being painted<\/a> and here is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toomik.net\/helen\/blog\/2015\/04\/19\/daily_212_-_coffee_and_cake\/\">Adrian serving me coffee and cake in the playhouse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not exactly in the way where it stands, but kind of, still. I&#8217;m thinking of maybe using that spot for a plum tree instead. A plum tree has been on my wish list for years; this summer I&#8217;m determined to plant one.<\/p>\n<p>As a first step in making the plum tree happen, today we pushed down the playhouse and took it to pieces, with crowbar and saw.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_2\/1981_demolition_1.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_2\/1981_demolition_2.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_2\/1981_demolition_3.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><br \/>\nLook at the difference between the north and south sides of the roof! The north face is covered with mosses and lichens, while the south side is completely clean.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_2\/1981_demolition_4.jpg\" class=\"x45y6\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/helen\/blog\/images\/daily_2\/1981_demolition_5.jpg\" class=\"x6y45\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The magenta playhouse has done its job.
